Matcha bowl from traditional Japanese handcraft

Our Matcha bowl "Yokkaichi" comes from the Japanese prefecture of Gifu and was lovingly handcrafted there in a well-known Japanese studio in Mino. The city of Mino is particularly known for its long tradition in the production of porcelain and ceramics, but also for special glazing techniques. Due to the artistic workmanship, each of these bowls is truly unique, both in shape and color.

The Matcha bowl "Yokkaichi" is turned on a classic pottery wheel made of natural clay and thus receives its classic shape (dojime shape), which is used for the traditional preparation of Matcha tea is determined. Thanks to the flat bottom of the bowl, the Matcha tea can be whipped particularly nicely, giving it an appealing head and allowing the full taste of the tea to develop. In addition, the comparatively thick rim of the bowl prevents the Matcha tea from cooling down quickly.

This high-quality Matcha bowl is a must for every Matcha tea lover and is in our Matcha online shop available in the following designs and colors:

  • Lava red with black gradients
  • Noble, light brown basic tone with dark earth tones
  • Black shark skin glaze with a brown rim
  • Natural clay design with a lovely floral pattern
  • Unusual brush design on a natural clay look

All bowls have a diameter of approx. 12,5 cm and a height of approx. 7,5 cm. The capacity is approx. 500ml.
